Marcelo Mifano

Partner and Global Head of Capital Solutions at Vinci Compass, Marcelo is a co-founder of SPS Capital, an independent Special Situations asset manager acquired by Vinci Compass in 2022, where he served as CEO and CIO. Prior to that, he was Head of Corporate Special Situations at BTG Pactual, responsible for investing the bank’s proprietary capital in complex situations through debt instruments. In addition to leading new investments in the Special Situations area, he was directly involved in distress cases within the group’s Credit and Private Equity portfolios. Earlier in his career, he led the proprietary trading desk for illiquid equities at Banco Santander, as well as other proprietary investment units in fixed income and macro trading. Marcelo holds a degree in Production Engineering from the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP), an MBA from The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
