Donald joined Valor Equity Partners as a Partner and is responsible for investments and structuring across funds. Donald has over 25 years of private equity, venture capital, and investment banking experience.
A career technology investor, Donald was previously President and Chief Investment Officer of Ionic Partners, a software holding company he founded in partnership with Antonio Gracias and Andy Tryba. Donald was also a senior investor at Vista Equity Partners, a global investment firm with over $100BN in AUM.
In addition to his role as an operator and investor, he was a Presidential appointee to the Executive Office of the President, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, Department of Veterans Affairs, and worked closely with the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. He also was a Partner and Board Chair of The h.wood Group and was a co founder of their affiliated businesses, h.wood media and h.wood films.
Donald is a 2026 Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. He holds an AB in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
